The 2024 Olympic Games will feature 120 golfers from 32 nations.
Le Golf National is hosting the event, marking golf’s third appearance since its return in Rio 2016.
Some big names didn’t qualify for the men’s competition due to the rules aiming for diverse representation.
The world’s top 15 male golfers were eligible, but only four players per country could compete. This means some US stars like Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Cantlay, and Brooks Koepka missed out. Instead, Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele made the cut. Schauffele won gold in Tokyo 2020.
Ireland’s team includes Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. Jon Rahm represents Spain; Ludvig Aberg plays for Sweden; Viktor Hovland competes for Norway. Team GB features Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick in the men’s event while Charley Hull and Georgia Hall play in the women’s.
Fans might think this lineup is super exciting!
World No.1 Nelly Korda joins Lilia Vu and Rose Zhang on the USA women’s team. Leona Maguire represents Ireland, with Brooke Henderson playing for Canada.
